Market Center of the Ozarks will be a 45,000-square-foot facility in downtown Springdale that provides local produce aggregation and distribution capabilities, commercial kitchens and produce processing capabilities, and community spaces for learning about the local food system.
- Aggregation and distribution: will source locally grown produce to meet wholesale and institutional food service needs in places such as schools, hospitals, and universities.
- Commercial kitchens: will support local food entrepreneurs, such as food truck operators and caterers, grow and scale their businesses.
- Produce processing: will support minimal processing, such as peeling, chopping, and freezing, of fresh produce into ready to use products for meal programs in institutional settings, such as schools, hospitals, and universities.
- Community spaces: will support gathering and learning opportunities for community members to learn more about our local food system.
